Housed in a former essence distillery, the restaurant boasts an impressive hall from the turn of the century that served Dr. Otto Reichel in the production of Reichel essences.
Since April 2014, the former production rooms with the high ceiling and the impressive old backsplash have been transformed into a modern restaurant that still retains its industrial atmosphere. The furnishings with mighty vintage-style ceiling lamps, old beech table tops on cast-iron frames, and real Rowac chairs emphasize the special loft character of the restaurant.

The cuisine at Eins 44 is a blend of down-to-earth and refined elements that are carefully crafted by creative director Daniel Achilles. Achilles is a chef of the old school who recently earned two stars in “Reinstoff” for his cosmopolitanism and inventiveness. He relies on easy-to-understand gourmet cuisine in a feel-good atmosphere under the motto “Neuköllner Finesse” in order to take away the shyness of the guests when it comes to sophisticated culinary art.
The ingredients used in the dishes are seasonal and from suppliers who share Achilles’ enormous quality standards. His contemporary and uncomplicated compositions have made Eins 44 a recommended restaurant in the Michelin Guide since 2017 and earned 15 points in Gault&Millau.
